Join Hopsewee Plantation and the Kaminski House Museum as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution here in the state which saw more battles than any other–including the very first victory for freedom at the Battle of Sullivan’s Island on June 28, 1776.

We’ll be working with Georgetown County 250 Committee, a subcommittee of the South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250), which aims to tell the entire story of the state's role in the Revolutionary War. The SC250 Commission will promote the state’s pivotal role in the American Revolution by informing and inspiring its residents and visitors.

The Georgetown 250 Commission will also be helping to identify sites in Georgetown County to add to the Liberty Trail, the American Battlefield Trust’s initiative to preserve and permanently protect over 2,500 acres of battlefield land from the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.
